national novel writing month. or, November.

Well, I haven’t written a ‘personal’ post in a long time. Here goes nothing.

For the month of November, I will be suspending my projects for the entire month. Why? It’s because I’ll be participating in NaNoWriMo, or the National Novel Writing Month.

For those of you who don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, it’s a yearly competition where writers from all around the world attempt to complete a novel of 50,000 words. You can find out more information at

So yeah, that is my November. I’ll be attempting to finish my own novel within a span of 30 days. I’m incredibly excited to pursue this, and am itching to start writing (I can’t until the clock strikes 12 on November 1).

I’ll also be going to twitter to somewhat live-tweet my writing periods (because, I’ll seriously need a distraction from writing otherwise I’ll burn out). You check out my twitter here:

I’m really excited to write, and I really hope to get to my goal of 50,000 words. My novel will be a political drama taking place in a small Canadian town (but it’s completely fictional). If you’ve read The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, then you might like it. That is, if I end up doing something with it.

After November, I’ll be back to my old projects. I’m pretty excited for December-March period, as I’m planning something pretty big. Like seriously. It’s tough for me not to just shout it out to the world, but you’ll have to wait.

Now before I sign off, if you are doing NaNoWriMo as well, LET ME KNOW! I would love to discuss this competition and motivate and such and such.
